Coach Calum’s note

Semi-final we played Falls town again. We lost 3-1 in a really competitive game. I was so proud of the lads: they gave everything in that game. We went 1-0 up through Noah who had a great tournament. We were competitive all over the pitch and I really felt we deserved more in that game. I take the full blame for the game. We made a tactical change after going 2-1 down in man marking their number 7. I should have started the game with this tactic instead of applying it half way through the second half. My rationale is we went 2-0 up the first time against them had I felt if we could get the lead then change tactics and defend the lead. However I got too greedy with it being a semi final and I cost the lads the game with that decision. So I apologize to the group and I will learn from this lesson. I have had a lot of success in national tournaments from trying to attack rather than defend and I felt confident with my decision going into the game. I take 100% of the blame for this game the lads gave absolutely everything and followed my instructions.

I really want to thank the families involved in this team. I love this group and with the new families who have joined us have brought so much to the team and I am very grateful to this group.
