Semifinals U90 tournament Vs. Spurs
For the 3RD TIME WE PLAY THIS TEAM IN A TOURNAMENT…CAN WE WIN?
Taken by Sean
Player of the match: Ethan (our keeper), HE IS INSANE!
Goal scorer(s): N/A (Sadly 😢)
Funny of the game: We have played this team 3 times now, and lost 0-1 every single time.
1st Half
The Surf 2011 boys have played the Texas Spurs 2 times before this game, and we still could not reply this game unfortunately. Juan had many chances dribbling the ball, as well as receiving passes. He had one cross-bar and just missed the rebound. “Abuela” (And don’t worry…he is okay with being called that) Mateo had a nice game, with close to two assists, sadly the goals could not be finished. As a team our gameplay was not the best, but we could definitely have beaten this team 6-0. They scored after a corner kick in the first half with an unfortunate bounce, sadly put in by Jack.
At half coach reported our playing individual terrible. “We must pass to the open man. Get the cross in. Lets do some damage as a team here.” We were going to try to get a win out of this game, even though this match was going to be hard (apparently) for us.
2nd Half
Here we were, back out on the field. The Spurs had one guy in the mid-field that was literally like the engine of a rocket. He could blast the ball upfield from 0 to most likely about 50 miles per hour in seconds. He made a few nice passes and got a shot off…thankfully we had our completely insanity, “Superman”, as he calls himself at goalkeeper for another (not surprising) save. Luke also played a great game, with many good passes to Juan and Dylan that were very close to goals. Coach said, “We had about 3 clear-cut chances!” Juan dribbled like the defense was a recreational league team and beat them. A mid-fielder on their team tried to bat it in from a corner, but thankfully we had another save from Ethan. The rest of the game was very suspenseful, but sadly the whistle was blown, possibly knocking us out of the tournament.
The final score was
0-1 Surf lost!
