Here is a brief update on Surf! (covering many things!)
Lately, the Surf soccer club has been delayed a few games, mostly due to the opposing team not being available. The schedule has changed so many times I am not very sure that we will play any games! Anyways, when you have just put together, you can't always get into detailed stuff at first, so...we have been having some fun! In the past 3 weeks, we have been scrimmaging almost every practice!! It has been pretty fun, and coach intends to introduce 11 v 11 through this. We have been playing the 2011 Surf girls, and it has been a pretty good match, except we have won every time. When you scrimmage, it really doesn't matter who wins as long as you play to your full potential and have fun. The game was definitely fun, and in terms of full potential, I think it was a very well played game in terms of skill.
As a small introduction to the new players, I would like to say a little something about each one!
Luke
Luke plays," Really anywhere" as he says. He seems to enjoy playing offense and a good trait he has is that he is always generous.
Gavin
Gavin most likely is going to be a great addition to our defensive side. He is tall, and he has a bright future for defense!
Mateo
Mateo has been to practice only a few times, so we do not know very much about him.
Dylan
Dylan, while playing in the scrimmages, has made a nice appearance near the goal scoring for us! He looks to be a center attacking middle, and it seems he is happy in this position.
Juan
Juan is very nice, but plays ferociously with the ball. He plays great defense, but still looks to play offense, which should be nice because on the offensive third you need good defenders.
Adam1
Adam1 is a former player for Evolution, but left, then came back to Surf when this new team began. He used to play goalie, but has swayed away from it over the few seasons on other teams.
Adam2
Adam2 has not been seen very much at practice so we do not know much about him.
Conner
Conner is a former goalie for his old team, but looks to play in the field more on Surf. He plays very good goalie, and his future looks bright on Surf.
