NPL 8th Game Vs. Vaqueros
A nasty team…sadly a nasty outcome…😢
Player of the match: all the 2012 boys that played, for playing up to 11v11 and playing aggressively in a league and players they don’t know!
Goal Scorer(s): (Should I even write this stat when we don’t score? Fill out a sheet at the bottome of this page to vote)
Funny of the game: The team we playede was really nasty to us…did it bother us? NO! 😜
1st Half
Surf played Vaqueros, a team full of mockery, insults, language, and poor sportsmanship…we played well in the first half, but they had the ball most of the time. Still, we kept possetion when we did get the ball, and recovered back fairly well. They had the ball most of the time, because of their insane passing skills (and fouls!); we had trouble getting it on our half. We did a few times, and I must admit their defensive line were noobs. We had one shot on goal, and mostly kept theirlines back. They got eight shots on goal, of which 7 were deflected or off-taget. Last time we played this team, they won 5-1, so we were on a roll exiting the field after the first half with only one goal on us.
At halftimem, coach Calunm said we were playing a really nice game. We were closing down the players trying to made forward runs, positioning was for the most part good, and passing when we had the ball was decent. Though we did have many mistakes in the attacking third, we played a fairly good half. “Just, when they have the ball over on one side, the oppositewinger should come in and help, leaving the opponent winger alone on the other side.” LET’S GO!
2nd Half
Like many other games, this one was not very notable…the gist: THEY SCORED A LOT! The second half was disaster. They had a left winger that crossed in and was extremely fast. The center-midfielders made beautiful curved passes towards him, and he made many well-planned runs. Evantually, he came out, but during the time he was in, he scored about 3 of their goals in the second half. Then they scored multiple times just after I came out, making the game 0-7! This was rough, but we were to try and maintain the ball (when we got it), and keep them from getting shots on goal. The game ended
0-8, SURF LOST
It was a rough loss for Surf. Nevertheless, we played a hard game. Besides all this, we were also playing with many Surf 2012's, because the other players were out of town for Spring Break. Maybe next week we can pull out a second win.
Note: This league is NPL, much better than the TCSL league where we are also playing. At the game's end, coach said, " Keep your heads high. We had many disadvantages that led to our misfortunate loss." -Simon
