Game 1, Snowball Cup Vs. NTX Puede
Wow! What a good match up!

1st Half
We had this game in our hands. This was going to be a very winnable game. The North Texas Puede had been in the Classic League, and has a really good team. Nevertheless, we were on top the first few minutes. Dylan played an excellent game; he played against each defender, and I think if I were that defender, I would be kind of nervous. They had an amazing passing game, we sort of did. This was going to be an interesting match up!
The game started with Juan’s close chance. He was so excited, but it barely missed. It was evem past the keeper! But sadly it was just outside the net. The team built out from the back very well, but we shut them down on defense. I played a good game, excluding the final seconds of the match, which we will get to later. Ethan played a good game, and we built out from the back well as well. This was a very exciting game. They scored once from an unfortunate pass-and-go with their right wing, and scored another when Jacob and I made a mistake taking a penalty. We were still eager to win the game, and obviously coach was as well.
At half, coach exclaimed, “ Boys: I will tell you when you are not playing well. I will definitely tell you. But you guys played excellent Fûtball that half. We really had a good half. True, they did score twice, but we had a good game. We pressed them well, and had some clear-cut goal scoring oppurtunities! Let’s win this boys. Yeh? We can pull this out. This is a very winnable game.” We were very hyped up-maybe I was a little too hyped up-for the possible last half of this snowball cup!
2nd Half
They scored early AGAIN in the second half. We had a silly mistake in the mid-field that led to the passing behind of the ball, that was chased down and they scored their final goal this game. We tried very hard to win the game. I played a good game at the back, and their team was really stretching our limits with positioning and spacing mistakes. Thankfully we did not make any technical errors this game, because if we had I am sure we would have scored. I got a yellow card, and so did Dylan, because he said a bad word to the ref. I got one because apparently my foul was too hard. I also got 2 other fouls during that game, that led up to what I can’t hold back any longer, a red card for me (Simon). Yes, I may have deliberately tripped the guy. Yes, I may have fouled him pretty badly, but after that, the kid came over to me and full on pushed me over. I may not be playing in the next game or the rest of the tournament.
But now on from that, we could not reply the rest of the few seconds, except for one close call with Noah, but he could not get it in.
The final score was
0-3 Surf, again…lost

Coach Calum’s Note
This Friday evening we played a tough game and the scoreline really didn't do the game justice. We played a really solid team who play in a great league. I was very impressed with our performance apart from us not taking chances and giving away a couple of preventable goals. I liked how we moved the ball in the build up phase we were able to switch play and we were comfortable in the middle of the pitch with the ball; we created chances by building with the ball and created chances while counter attacking. We battled for possession and in the second half I really think we took control of the game more than the opposition this game gave me great faith in how we may perform in the tournament. Unfortunately we lost 0-3 but the lads were excellent and that scoreline is completely different if we take our chances.
