No!!! What a disgrace.

Funny of the game: Because of shortage of players, Theo's sister played...and wore the same number as him! (#44)

1st Half

This team was superior. They made beautiful runs to make opportunities for goals, and they just had it together. Said flat out, we played terribly against the strength of this team. I don't like saying this, but sme of us didn't get after the ball like we mostly usually do. We had the ball at the start, to be lost very quickly. To add onto this team difference, the referee was LITERALLY calling the AIR for fouls. It wasn't fair, and 90% of the fouls were for them. UGH! They scored at the very start, and we had almost no reaction. Juan received the ball afterward, but it went past him, and they scored again. The game was not very exciting, inless you count the other team's fans. Then later in the game, we had a few nice spurts. Theo dribbled and lost the ball, then Mateo dribbled and lost the ball, then Theo got it back and shot, but the other team blocked it by about half an inch! It was so close to going in. Then Jack got a foul, and Mateo took it. He lost the ball and they dribbled up, and with a lot of difficulty, they somhow got it past Ethan, our current goalie. They were up 3-0 with 2 minutes left in the first half, as Maia...Theo's sister, made a nice pass to Theo (#44 passed to #44...don't ask why). Theo barely didn't get to the ball quick enough, and the defense passd it up. This team had a strayegy against me too! They would dribbled up, then pass behind me because there is no offsides (and I wish there had been because we would have won this game if there had been...). Then they basically get me lounging, with almost no help, at the ball, then they calmly take it from my feet...and they scored at the very last minutes with that strategy to put them ahead, 4-0 going into the second half.

Coach Calum is gone on vacation...for three weeks! We are sad to not have him coaching us from the sideline (because it is extremely helpful!!), but at least we have someone subbing us, and today that was Isaac, Mateo's dad. He said we just needed to keep going. 

2nd Half

The second half was even less eventful than the first unfortunately. I wish we could have made a huge amazing comeback with the crowd cheering and everyone super sad on the other team, but we can't win them all. They scored almost AT kickoff, when they passed to the person on the left wing, then he crossed it over. They had the whole "go up with help" thing DOWN and i think that is what really made us lose. They scored from the right wing as well after this later about 3 minutes in. They kept making these great moves, but then jack came in and dribbled all the way up, passed it over to me, the I made a give'n'go pass with Mateo, and Mateo just dribbled. He lost the ball, but somehow he drew a foul...and i'm not complaining. That referee...I could go on and on about him, so I just won't say anything about him and we'll just keep the peace. Jack got to take the foul, and he made a nice shot, but it was barely blocked by the "wall". He got the rebound and shot...ITS IN! The first go-oh wait, now the ref is saying that there was a foul BEFORE the ball went in. "What??!" That what I think Jack felt at that moment. He also did his signature pick-up-the-ball-and-"what?" (but it was perfectly just because I would have done that too had I been the one that SERIOUSLY JUST SCORED!). Then they scored again...and again. They were up 0-6 in the second half with 3 minutes to go...and we got another chance. We dribbled up on the right side, crossed it into the defender, but then Theo won the ball off the defender, and passed to Maia, who crossed it back over on the left side to jack, who shot...but it BARELY went over the goal, and when I say barely, I mean it was rolling in. But we didn't score, and they scored again with that annoying move to end the game:

0-7, Surf lost.
