3rd Game Vs. Dallas Legends
“DUFFY SCORES!!!!!!” -Entire team!
Player Of the Match: Duffy, for making his first goal and playing very aggresive.
Goal scorer(s): Landon, Juan, Landon, Jack, Juan, Dylan, Duffy
Funny of the game: The other team’s jersey’s looked like they were a chocolate moose!
1st Half
The game, as coach said, was a nice beautiful start. The team’s “best” striker, Liam, was telling me that, “Everyone knows my name in soccer. Any soccer player knows the name…LIAM!” Of all the silliest things to say…anyhow, he didn’t score once, and he was really…not good. We scored three times in the first half, which was a nice improvement, and this win would bring us to second place in the league! To quickly start up the game, Landon had a nice pop-in behind the keeper after a nice pass from Juan. Then, a second later it felt like, they made a nice move to beat Josh, although this was the only time I can recall that Josh was beaten…he did REALLY great today! Then Landon made another goal to follow up and “flew” back through the field (see video above). He was almost at a hat-trick, when later in the half, Liam (the great🤦♂️?) made a move that I slammed back at him right before the whistle, which was a L-turn. The half ended with a 3-0 lead!
As it says in the post-game report (written by Coach Calum below), Andy and Ken kept the “boat afloat” by warming us up, beginning the game, and almost ending the half. Coach said at half, “Hey, from what I have seen you boys have done well. You can enjoy the ball now, and take your time on it. That other team does not have a single sub’, so play them out. Alright, lets do this.” Josh said, “Hands in!”, then the whole team said, “1,2,3, SURF!!” We were ready to compete!
2nd Half
The second half started out like the whistle had been blown and everyone was just playing wearily. Then the game started to really liven up…we scored many times! The highlight, though, of the game, was when Duffy stepped up to a penalty put in place to try to make his happy first goal, SPOILER ALERT…the video’s first caption says Duffy Scores! His first exciting goal put very nicely into the bottom right hand corner by a well-placed shot. He did amazing with it! More might be written soon!
A post-game report: BY Coach Calum
“I apologize for being late to the game but I would like to say thank you to Andy and Ken for keeping the ship a float with my absence.” He said, “We were by far the better team and it was great to see them being comfortable in the game and wanting to score goals. I would have liked us to dominate the field territory a little bit more with the ball but the group did an incredible job using the wide players and getting them behind the opposition and facing the goal. We managed to keep the opposition in their half most of the game. The best part about this game is we had different goal scorers and the team spirit was amazing. It is great watching this group of new lads become a team.”
