Game 3: Fall Season Vs. Today

First game’s release!

It’s finally here! THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON! The game began really well: we had numerous oppurtunities and we took those oppurtunities. Our energy stayed high most of the game, sagging only when they got close to our goal once or twice. After practicing for weeks, the team is well-rounded and seemed ready for this game. And did we prove it? YOU BET! The game continued 0 to 0 until late in the second half when I passed up through the middle to someone (I don’t remember who), and they almost made the goal on the left side of the field, but it was just right of the post. Out of the blue, a new recruit, Oliver, came in and tapped the ball in FOR A GOAL!! The team we played, Avanti, panicked after the goal, and tried numerous times to advance through our defensive line. Much to their discontent, they couldn’t! The game ended

Surf 1, Avanti 0!!

Getting back to the basics

Here comes another season! But what does the team need to improve? Well, here are a few interesting headlines to refresh the website and most importantly, you!

1. Rumors claim JOSH and JACK are leaving the team.

This could affect the middle third in our upcoming games! We’ll see how things progress as more news arrives.

2. Coach said something along the lines of, “Let’s just get back to basics here. During the summer we’re going to be working mainly on individual gameplay. Team gameplay will come when the season begins again.” We will be working on ball skills and things to that effect during the summer. Let’s hear it for the offseason! (:

Summing up the season; the semifinals

This semifinal's score was far worse than expected. But there were a number of good things we can take out of this game. Firstly, our performance was exceptional. We were trying to get overloads at the top of the field, we created numerous opportunities, and we almost always had various options going forward. Secondly, we were creating chances. Although this team was skilled enough to stop us from going farther than the middle third, they couldn't stop us from trying. There were some plays that needed to be made and we made them. Lastly, we were stubborn. When we lost the ball, save a couple of times, everyone tried to get it. In this way, we gained possession from their attacks and were able to counter them in front and behind the ball. But this team was very skilled and could control the ball well in most situations. We could have controlled the middle better, but we learned from our mistakes. The game ended 0-5, Surf had again lost

"Boys, I am so proud of how you have performed throughout these tournaments, regular season games, and scrimmages. In the first game you showed persistence and confidence, and we won that game. The second game, you all showed me you can be stubborn in the face of all we had going on that day. We can scratch that one out. This game, the semifinals, you all showed me skill on and off the ball. Although we didn't win many games, we played well, and I'm very proud of you boys." These were the finals words of the season Coach Calum spoke after the semifinals game. Thank you very much for sticking with the Surf Soccer Summaries! After winning the first game this morning and grabbing the extra point during the later game, the McKinney Cup officials announce that Surf is in the finals tomorrow! Get ready for some exciting end-of-season tournament activity for Surf 11B as they advance to the finals potentially against FC Dallas Gold!

Ethan, a defensive player, and Landon, a winger, both face uncertainties regarding their return due to their respective injuries. The Surf team has encountered challenging matches, including losses against teams like Falls Town and Solar, with varying performances noted. Despite setbacks, the team remains optimistic, with new acquisitions and technological upgrades like the VEO Cam enhancing their capabilities in broadcasting (potentially). Coach Calum's leadership is praised for his dedication and efforts in improving the team's performance and fostering a positive environment.

Surf returns to home turf as they are soon competing in the Spring tournament, a new fancy in soccer. Additional updates involve the Surf Soccer Club acquiring several prominent football clubs, with one notable acquisition being the Saints Football Club. Surf is emerging as a central destination for players of all ages to engage in the most beloved sport known to mankind!
